Does your child attend a charter or private school that ends in early June? Legacy is one of the only providers in Harlem to offer a unique camp session to the students of charter & private schools in the community. Now is the time to register them for our in-demand charter session. 

Parents can rest assured that their scholars will be in an enriching program, enjoying diverse enrichment experiences while having fun.

Summer camp is not just about being active; it’s about learning while having fun during the summer. We focus on clubs and activities each week to let our campers’ creativity and curiosity run wild. In Legacy Sessions 1-4, campers will enjoy creative arts, STEM, nature, and sports. 

We take weekly trips to destinations all over New York City that coincide with fun and academic exploration. Our campers visit educational institutions every summer to increase hands-on activities, such as the American Museum of Natural History, the Queens Hall of Science, the NY Botanical Gardens, and many more.

Basketball Camp 

June 22nd-Aug 14th, 2026

Our newest program was added this year! The Legacy Lions basketball camp focuses on mastering basketball in a fun environment. This sports program has been developed for our campers in grades PreK-6th. Legacy Lions focuses on providing expert coaching, training, drills, and daily basketball games. This program will produce and offer youth players the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball while instilling values such as character, teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. Every child will leave camp a better player, having progressed through a technical basketball training curriculum that expert basketball coaches have designed.

All instruction is provided by qualified Legacy coaches who have played professionally and have a love for teaching youth what it takes to progress to the next level of the sport.

  • Camp Hours: 8 AM/9 AM- 5:45 PM

  • ADD Basketball Camp to your application for $50 PER SESSION

  • Basketball camp is an “add-on program” and runs from 9 am-1 pm daily. This fills your child’s summer day with more sports activities.

Cooking Club

June 22nd- Aug 14th, 2026

Legacy Cooking Club provides young campers with a fun and educational culinary experience. Campers 4-11 years old learn essential kitchen skills, discover new ingredients, and create delicious dishes through hands-on activities that promote creativity and teamwork.

Instructors guide campers in age-appropriate cooking techniques while allowing children to expand their culinary skills. Campers take pride in their creations and enjoy tasting their results.

Charter School- After-School Program with Student Pick-Up

Harlem Village Academy West

Legacy Youth Organization partners with Harlem Village Academy Charter Schools to provide uninterrupted summer and after-school childcare services for HVA East and West students. This program offers reliable, affordable care for families, including on half days. If chosen, after-school services will transition smoothly from summer camp right into the start of the school year.

HVA WEST scholars are picked up at dismissal from school and brought to our Legacy Site at 127 West 127th Street. Scholars receive snacks and participate in Arts & Crafts, technology, and Group Activities.

  • $215 per month for (5 Days per Week including Half Days)

  • $170 per month for ONLY Fridays

  • Children in PreK- 5th grades only.

Weekly themes

Each session consists of its own theme, trips and activities, so that your child has something new to anticipate with each coming week.

Hands-on activities

Our activities are designed to keep your child engaged, whether it’s learning about the solar system or creating abstract art and crafts to dance.
